For more than a century the Bowling Green Police Division has kept watch in the city of Bowling Green. The Division currently includes more than 40 sworn officers along with approximately 15 civilian employees.
The Division's offices and other facilities are located in the Safety Building at 175 W. Wooster St. The communication's center is staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Recent communication equipment upgrades have enabled better information sharing with officers in the field. In 2008 the Division handled more than 28,000 calls, a mix of emergencies and general inquiries.
The Police Division maintains a fleet of approximately 20 vehicles, some of which are housed in the parking garage on the ground floor of the Safety Building. Officers also utilize bicycles and foot patrol in their coverage of the city.
The Safety Building also houses a firing range and a small gym for the officers.
