Bowling Green Area Community Band

The Bowling Green Area Community Band, now in its third season, looks to entertain locals in a variety of settings and sponsored events. The band was started in 2007 after retired music educator and high school principal Nick Ezzone was approached to conduct once again. Ezzone has a long history of conducting high school and community bands and he also continues to be an active musician as both a keyboard and trumpet player.

After several months of planning, talking, and meeting, the evening of February 5th, 2007 saw the bands first rehearsal, which was held at the Bowling Green High School. The band continues to meet each Monday evening to practice and work on new material for the concert season.

Since then, with help of Assistant Conductor Thomas Headly, the band has been continuing to grow to the 70 member piece that it currently is. Membership in the band is open to all interested musicians. The band also performs several times a year in a variety of settings. Concerts are usually held four times a year, one each in the early winter, one in late winter/early spring, one in late spring/early summer, and another again later in the summer. With the band continuing to play and to grow, it's not hard to see how they've quickly become a talented community staple.
